We were honoured
to be selected as the lighting supplier to the
Home Show's Dream Home. Working with designer Lynelle
Madison, we were asked to
design and supply the lighting for the home. |

THE DESIGN
The
2003 Dream Home was the main attraction
of the National Home Show. The house was over
4,000 square foot and incredibly was built in just
8 1/2 days by Baywood Homes as a free standing structure
inside the Home Show!
Interior
designer Lynelle Madison, of Design InVision (as well
as a regular designer on The Decorating Challenge),
set the overall vision of the home, designing it for
comfort, convenience and luxury. Lynelle came
to us to find the right products to complete the harmony
of design she was striving for. With her we put together
a magnificent collection of products for every room
in the home and then we had just two days to pull it
all together! Pictures of some of those rooms are set
out below. |

THE COURTYARD
Lynelle's design revolves
around four natural elements: earth, fire, water and
air. All of these elements were found in the Courtyard
and we provided 'the fire' with our new 'Flame' wall
sconce. The sconce has the impression of being
a burning torch with a light and fan below a special
piece of fabric.
The
Flame sconce is available in three finishes (black,
satin nickel and antique brass) and in two different
styles. Similar floor lamps are also available. |
THE KITCHEN
A truly
gorgeous kitchen was built for the Dream Home. The
unique 'coffee shop' area gives a whole new meaning
to a 'kitchen table!'
The fixture we used for
over the island was an oval shaped six light forged
wrought iron-look and fitted with optional shades. This
fixture is part of our 'Devonshire' family of with
a wide range of sizes and styles of similar products
(including the fixture we used in the "Lanai Room" -
see photo below).
Over
each of the three coffee-bar tables, we suspended a
mini halgoen pendant from a flexible track-rail system
that we shaped on site. This product is a 'lighting
system' as it is comprised of a huge range of components
which you combine to create a customized and unique
product.

THE FOYER
We found some old world charm for the
'rotunda' with a magnificent large lantern with seeded
glass panels. This fixture is available in three
sizes (this is the largest) and two finishes. |
THE BEDROOMS
The bedroom design
was soft and comfortable. With the high ceilings
we were able to use a beautful new fixture from Robert
Abbey - a white glass urn with a traditional filigree
trim.
The master ensuite was truly spectacular
and with all of the stone and earth tones to it, Lynelle
selected the perfect match in a chandelier - a Schonbek
Rock Crystal five light fixture that was suspended over
the claw bathtub.
